Position Overview
We are seeking a Node.js Developer to join our Software Engineering team in Vienna, Austria. In this mid-level role, you will contribute to building and scaling SERGENTA AI's enterprise platform, working alongside a world-class team of engineers, designers, and business professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and services
- Write clean, tested, and well-documented code with a focus on maintainability
- Architect APIs, microservices, and integrations with external systems
- Optimise application performance, latency, and resource utilisation
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies
- Collaborate with product, design, and AI teams to deliver end-to-end features
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers
- Ensure security best practices across the entire development lifecycle
Daily Activities
- Writing and reviewing code in Python, TypeScript, Go, or Node.js
- Designing APIs and data models for new features
- Debugging and resolving production issues
- Collaborating in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Improving CI/CD pipelines and developer experience
- Documenting technical decisions and architecture
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, TypeScript, Go, Java)
- Experience with web frameworks (React, FastAPI, Express, or similar)
- Understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building enterprise SaaS platforms at scale
- Contributions to open-source projects
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues
- Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
