The operating system for
enterprise intelligence.
BIOS™ is not a collection of AI tools. It is the platform that connects people, knowledge, data, systems and AI into one intelligent operating environment — enabling organisations to centralise intelligence, orchestrate workflows, govern AI and scale safely.
Why
Why BIOS™ exists
Most enterprise AI initiatives fail not because of model quality, but because of the infrastructure around the models. Teams build agents in notebooks, connect them with scripts and deploy them without governance. The result: systems that hallucinate, leak data, cost unpredictably and cannot be audited.
SERGENTA AI developed BIOS™ because enterprise AI needs more than models — it needs a platform. A foundation that provides data models, authentication, retrieval, orchestration, security and observability as structural properties, not as afterthoughts.
BIOS™ is that platform. It is the operating system for enterprise intelligence — the layer that makes AI reliable, explainable, governed and production-grade.
Fragmented AI
Isolated agents with no shared infrastructure, data models or governance.
Unreliable AI
Systems that hallucinate, fail silently and cannot be audited.
Ungoverned AI
No approval gates, no audit trails, no compliance enforcement.
Expensive AI
Unpredictable costs with no budget control or observability.
Insecure AI
Data leaking between tenants, credentials in code, mutable logs.
Unscalable AI
Prototypes that break in production with no path to enterprise scale.
Capabilities
What BIOS™ enables

Command Center with live dashboards, alerting and compliance reporting.
Scale AI across the organisation
Multi-tenant, multi-workspace architecture that grows with the enterprise.
Overview
What is BIOS™?
BIOS™ — Business Intelligence Operating System — is the foundational platform layer of SERGENTA AI. It provides the runtime, entity system, coordination, knowledge infrastructure and security primitives that every enterprise AI application builds upon.
Think of it as the operating system for enterprise AI. End users never interact with it directly — they interact with agents, dashboards and applications. But every agent, every pipeline and every integration relies on BIOS™ for data models, authentication, audit trails, retrieval, orchestration and governance.
Architecture
The BIOS™ Stack
Seven layers, each with explicit boundaries and contracts. Components communicate vertically through interfaces — never bypassing a layer.
API & SDK
REST, WebSocket, SDK — every capability programmable
Command Center
Monitoring, governance, audit, analytics
AI Studio
Agent development, prompt versioning, evaluation
Orchestrator
Task decomposition, agent routing, approval gates
AI Runtime

Modules
BIOS™ Modules
Each module is a specialised layer with its own architecture, contracts and documentation. Every module page follows the same structure: overview, problem, solution, architecture, how it works, benefits, technical deep dive and FAQ. BIOS™ comprises 130+ modules in total — the 9 shown here are the Sager-relevant, documented core.
Foundation
Platform Core
The foundational runtime — entity system, authentication, multi-tenancy and audit infrastructure that every BIOS module builds upon.
Foundation
Orchestrator
The coordination layer — task decomposition, agent routing, reasoning chain management and approval gates for multi-agent systems.
AI Runtime
AI Runtime
The execution engine — model abstraction, prompt management, inference orchestration and cost observability for production AI.
AI Runtime
Memory
The persistence layer — conversation history, entity state, vector embeddings and knowledge graphs for long-term agent intelligence.
AI Runtime
Knowledge Hub
The retrieval system — RAG pipeline, hybrid search, document processing and source attribution for grounded, explainable AI.
Platform Services
Security & Governance
The trust layer — row-level security, audit trails, secret management and compliance enforcement built into the platform runtime.
Development
AI Studio
The engineering environment where enterprise AI systems are designed, built, tested, deployed and maintained.

Glossary
Key Concepts
BIOS™
The foundational AI platform layer of SERGENTA. Stands for Business Intelligence Operating System. Provides the runtime, entity system, coordination and knowledge infrastructure for all enterprise AI applications.
RAG
Retrieval-Augmented Generation. A technique where an LLM's prompt is augmented with relevant context retrieved from a knowledge base, grounding the response in verified sources rather than training data.
Orchestrator
The coordination layer that decomposes complex tasks into sub-tasks, routes them to specialist agents, and governs execution through approval gates and audit trails.
RLS
Row-Level Security. A database-level mechanism that automatically filters query results based on the caller's identity and tenant, preventing data leakage across tenants.
DAG
Directed Acyclic Graph. A data structure used by the Orchestrator to represent task pipelines, where each node is a sub-task and edges represent data dependencies.
Embedding
A high-dimensional vector representation of text that captures semantic meaning. Similar texts produce similar vectors, enabling semantic search.
Hybrid Search
A retrieval strategy that combines vector similarity (semantic) and keyword matching (exact) to find the most relevant results for a query.
Confidence Score
A value from 0.0 to 1.0 indicating the reliability of an agent's output, derived from model logprobs, retrieval relevance and validation pass rate.
Approval Gate
A checkpoint in an agent pipeline where a high-impact action is paused for human review. The approver sees the full reasoning chain before approving, modifying or rejecting.
Reasoning Chain
A structured log of every step in an agent pipeline: the sub-task, the agent, the input context, the output, the confidence and the duration. Stored immutably alongside the pipeline result.
Prompt-as-Code
The practice of versioning, reviewing and deploying LLM prompts like source code, with evaluation harnesses that measure quality before deployment.
Event Sourcing
A persistence pattern where the current state is derived by replaying an append-only log of state changes, rather than storing only the latest state.
"Would this page still be valuable if it contained no contact form and no sales button?"
If the answer is yes, it is an engineering knowledge page. If the answer is no, it is still marketing. BIOS™ is built to be the former.
