AI Governance

Policies, controls and audit trails that make enterprise AI auditable, compliant and trustworthy.

AI governance in Command Center is the set of policies, controls and audit trails that ensure AI systems operate within defined boundaries. It covers who can deploy agents, what actions require human approval, how data is accessed and retained, and how compliance is demonstrated to regulators.

Governance Controls

  • Deployment review — agent and prompt changes require review and approval before going live.
  • Approval gates — high-impact actions (emails, transactions, record modifications) require human sign-off.
  • Access control — role-based access determines who can view, configure and deploy agents.
  • Audit trail — every deployment, configuration change and administrative action is logged immutably.
  • Compliance reporting — SOC 2, GDPR and ISO 27001 evidence is generated automatically from the audit trail.

Policy-as-Code

Governance policies in BIOS™ are defined as code — versioned, reviewed and deployed like any other configuration. A policy might state: 'outreach emails require approval from the sales lead' or 'agents handling PII must use encrypted knowledge bases'. These policies are enforced by the runtime, not by convention. Violations are blocked before execution, not discovered after.

Governance is not a brake on innovation — it is the guardrail that makes innovation safe. When policies are enforced by the runtime, developers can move fast because the system prevents violations automatically. When policies are procedural (documents that people should read), they are ignored under pressure.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Policies are defined as code and enforced by the BIOS™ runtime. If a policy states that an action requires approval, the Orchestrator pauses the pipeline at the approval gate — the action cannot execute until a human approves it. Enforcement is structural, not procedural.

Yes. Policies are configurable per workspace. A financial services workspace might have stricter approval requirements than a marketing workspace. Custom policies can be written to enforce organisation-specific rules.
